ANOTHER message on education

No matter how good advice is, applying it to yourself like a military order doesn’t work.

That isn’t what advice does.

Advice isn’t supposed to be used that way.

It’s supposed to trigger neurons in your brain that build connections, but that doesn’t happen when you overstimulate it with misinterpretations and exhaustion.

Memorization is not learning.

Memorization involves a different part of the brain than learning.

Learning activates more parts of your brain, and there is a constant novelty to learning, followed by remembering what you’ve learned.

Learning is supposed to come before memorization, so when you stress memorization as learning, you are incorrect, as memorization is more akin to being hit upside with a hammer until your superiors get you to say what they want you to say, whereas learning involves peace, relaxation, quiet, reflection, integration, specialization, utilization, and eventually, ability: none of which is possible within the modern classroom setting, as there are too many arbitrary deadlines to meet.

Education knows no time limit.
