You’re goddamn right we should teach women to not get sexually assaulted. Are you a fucking retard?

It makes more sense to tell women not to get sexually assaulted than it does to tell men not to sexually assault.

The latter is patronizing, as most men aren’t going to sexually assault, and, the men that are going to sexually assault aren’t going to listen to the message anyway.

However, telling women to NOT get sexually assaulted empowers them by telling them that they have some control over what happens to them, and that they aren’t the helpless victims that they have been told they are for millennia.

How does it give them power? Well, if you tell them that men are out to get them, you’re just going to frighten them and make them weak. I mean, just look at all of the men out there! Most women aren’t Ronda Rousey, and wouldn’t be able to fight off their attacker by brute strength (especially considering that an attacker is going to try to attack someone that he or she thinks wouldn’t be able to fight back). But if you, say, allow them to get a gun, and say “Use this if a man starts attacking you”, that’s quite a lot of empowerment. The woman who before really was a victim now has an “ultimate equalizer”. Although this doesn’t guarantee that she won’t get attacked, as there are many factors that come in to play as to what happens during a violent confrontation, the simple fact is that a woman with a gun is more empowered than a woman without one.

And if you really want to change a “rape culture”, you shouldn’t be preaching to non-rapists, but should instead do all of your shouting in a prison, where the real rapists are.

Just some food for thought…
